D.C. Councilmember Elissa Silverman has been ordered to repay greater than $6,000 after the D.C. Board of Elections upheld a ruling Friday by the D.C. Workplace of Marketing campaign Finance.
The ruling said that Silverman, an At-Giant councilmember, violated marketing campaign finance legal guidelines through the use of taxpayer-funded calling funds to conduct a ballot concerning the Ward 3 Democratic main.
Silverman had appealed the Workplace of Marketing campaign Finance’s ruling on due course of issues. However the D.C. Board of Elections upheld the ruling Friday, saying it was truthful.
In an announcement final week, Silverman insisted she did nothing fallacious, writing partially, “I imagine that the polling for a citywide candidate was throughout the Honest Elections rules, and I’ll be asking for a full listening to with the board on the matter.”
Silverman went on to name the allegations towards her baseless.
She is searching for her third time period as an Impartial At-Giant council member.
