NEW YORK (AP) – A three way partnership between General Motors and South Korean battery firm LG Vitality Resolution has closed on a $2.5 billion federal mortgage to assist finance three lithium-ion battery cell crops in Ohio, Tennessee, and Michigan.
The Division of Vitality awarded the mortgage to the enterprise, referred to as Ultium Cells, for the crops, that are anticipated to create about 11,000 jobs. The mortgage is a part of a authorities program designed to deal with the rising want for batteries for electric vehicles.
